I'd like to talk about teams and teambuilds. All the promotion last year spoke about teams and how you cannot make money alone so the best thing to do is to join a team.
What I'd like to ask and everyone to think about is why you have joined a particular team? Is it because you are a team player and really work hard to help the team and make it succeed, or do you just join to take the easy way out, sit back and let someone else do the work?
Remember - team. There IS NO "I" in "Team". When I represented my country overseas this was drummed into us day after day. Work as a team. You are not an individual anymore, you are part of a team.
Ok, so what happens when you join a team or a teambuild. Do you immediately join the forum, introduce yourself, get all the advertising tools available, go out and promote the team link and give the programs you are joining as part of the team at least six months to return an income. If you have said yes to all these then you are a genuine team player and you and your team should be successful.
Or, do you join the team, visit the forum only to advertise other programs, not do any advertising, not give the team a chance to build your referrals in the programs, opt out within a couple of months and whinge that it is not working for you and jump to the next one, hoping that there are enough people promoting this one to make money for you straight away?
Do these scenarios sound familiar? Which category are you in? Let me give you an example.
I am a founding member of Forced Team Profits (FTP). Jason Laney is the admin. Jason works tirelessly for the team. It all started when we both joined a failed teambuild in GDI. Jason was in my downline. We started corresponding and I suggested that GDI was the wrong choice of program as you needed 10 people to make your $10 per month and that we should look at building a team in NPN that only needs 2 referrals to cover costs. We could then look at other programs and enter the team in the reverse order.
Jason agreed, and with the help of Michael Badger, Forced Team Profits was born. We had some great teamplayers who visited the forum all the time, advertised other programs and got referrals by announcing a program, then other members would join, advertise their URL and so on. All the time, we were building a nice downline in FTP/NPN.
After looking around for other programs, I decided that FTP should have its own program so I developed FTPCash only for FTP members. In other words, it isn't advertised in its own right, there is no join link, it is a monthly subscription and I manually do the load each month so that Jason can reverse the order etc. It is a simple forced 2x2 matrix - $12.50 subscription (to cover fees), paying $10 for 2 referrals, another $15 on a full matrix PLUS a re-entry to start over again. It is the members program and could only be successful with member support.
Two things happened. First of all, the free advertising in the forum was getting out of hand and we thought that the main focus of the team, being promoting FTP was being lost. We decided to remove the free advertising and offer paid advertising in the forum or solo ads to all registered team members. The forum stopped dead except for a few dedicated members.
The second thing is FTPCash. We had a huge load for a couple of months, then, guess what - if people didn't get paid straight away - they opted out. We have a core group of members that subscribe every month. They usually get paid every month, but the ones who opted out are the ones getting paid now, while new people have to wait as the subscriptions have gone down. What they seem to have forgotten is that they will get paid, re-entered and paid to infinity on each position. It is their program and can only be successful if the members support it. If these members support their own program then they will keep getting paid.
Luckily, Jason and a few dedicated members continue to promote FTP and I do earn a nice income a month. I always ensure that whatever else I am doing, 50% of my advertising is for FTP.
Similarly, we started a teambuild in CMU7 and other supported programs. All we asked was that people come to our forum and support CMU7 and one other program. No free advertising is offered so no-one came. I ran a full training teambuild in Wow10Bucks. A really easy 2x2 that when it is filled you don't pay anymore. I listed how to advertise, email ads etc. One person joined the recommended advertising programs. Others joined Wow, advertised on a couple of traffic exchanges, then emailed me and asked when I was going to give them spillover. Similarly, the admin of MoreEgold gave step by step training on how to recruit 100 in 30 days. It was very similar to what I'd done for Wow. Well, I have over 60 referrals and about 5 are following the steps.
So what I am asking is, please think of team and not "I" when you join a teambuild. Get involved, advertise - be a team player. If every team member does this and not rely on a few dedicated members, and go an jump to another program after a couple of months, then you can guarantee that your team will be a success.
FTP is not going anywhere, so if you want to get involved in a fantastic team, great programs, including your own then we will welcome you with open arms.
